Melissa Batulis joined 69-WFMZ in June 2006. Not only is
she excited to be a part of the Berks Edition team, but she's very happy
to be back in her home-state of Pennsylvania (even if she is on the
opposite side).
Melissa comes to Berks County after more than a year in Elmira, New
York, where she was a general assignment reporter for WENY-TV. Before
that she got her feet wet in the professional world of news, splitting
her time between a behind-the-scenes gig at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, PA
(Go Steelers!) and as a radio news anchor/reporter in her hometown of
Indiana, PA. A graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA (Go
Titans!), Melissa earned her bachelor's degree in Broadcast
Communications in 2003.
Melissa says she loves reporting because it means she gets to meet a
wide variety of people everyday and she hardly ever has to sit still!
When she's not on air, you can usually find Melissa shopping, jogging,
dancing around or spending precious time (via phone or in person) with
her parents, Margie and Jerry, and her friends, who you'll often hear
her refer to as her "Starting Line Up." With her arrival at WFMZ,
Melissa anticipates exploring eastern Pennsylvania will soon become a
new favorite pastime.
