DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) Ford Motor Company says it will cut 25,000 to 35,000 jobs and idle 14 facilities in North America. C-E-O Bill Ford says the changes are "strong medicine," but that they'll provide the "vision and strategic focus" to rebuild the automaker. He says Ford "will retake the American roadway." The cuts and the plant closings are scheduled to take effect by 2012. The restructuring is designed to reverse billion-dollar losses in North America by the nation's second-biggest automaker. The C-E-O says, "We all have to change, we all have to
Sacrifice." But he adds, "I believe this is the path to winning."
