One Tank Trip: Hall of Presidents & First Ladies
Forty four presidents all under one roof. It's a place in Gettysburg dedicated to preserving the history of the presidency. In this week's One Tank Trip, WFMZ's Karin Mallett takes us to the Hall of Presidents.

  >> REPORTER: Not everyone has the chance to meet the President of the United States but you can get pretty close to him in Gettysburg.. only problem is he won't say much.

>> MAX FELTY: We try to make them as lifelike as possible.

>> REPORTER: Out of wax, The Hall of Presidents in Gettysburg is billed as the world's only complete wax collection of American Presidents and their First Ladies. >> nats: >> REPORTER: Starting with George Washington, the life sized wax versions of the presidents are in chronological order.. complete with detail down to the knuckles. Some bare striking resemblances.

>> FELTY: A lot of people really do think that he looks a lot like President Obama.

>> REPORTER: Others take a little more imagination. During the tour there are benches and chairs to sit and relax but depending on where you sit.. you might feel a bit conspicuous.. some look as though they are looking right at you.

>> FELTY: They get a little freaky, you don't like to close this place sometimes.

>> REPORTER: And you'll notice that someone is missing.

>> FELTY: We really wanted him to have a starring role.

>> REPORTER: President Dwight D. Eisenhower isn't in the lineup. Instead, his indelible mark in history and connection to Gettysburg gives him his own room here. He's the only President molded twice -- once in uniform and upstairs in his study.

>> FELTY: This was the only place where he actually had a home so he holds a special place in the heart of people from Gettysburg.

>> REPORTER: Mamie and the rest of the first ladies are portrayed in petite proportions.. 1/3 the size. Like the Smithsonian collection.. the first ladies are dressed in reproductions of their inaugural gowns.

>> FELTY: Obviously we can't get a hold of the real things but we try our best to replicate.

>> REPORTER: For now, Laura Bush is the most up to date. Michelle is on her way. With her husband, waiting downstairs. Waiting on my invite to the White House on a One Tank Trip to the Hall of Presidents in Gettysburg, Karin Mallett 69 News Berks Edition.
