Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Killed In Police Chase
The coroner has identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a police chase as Kevin Shafer, 38, of Walnutport, Northampton County. The chase started on Main Street in North Catasauqua, Northampton County last night. Police say they chased Shafer onto Route 145 and into North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.[
7/16/09 REPORT: Motorcyclist Killed While Fleeing Police ] That's when police say the Shafer hit a car also heading north, and then hit a parked vehicle on the berm in the 5700 block of Route 145. Shafer was killed. Police have not yet said why they were chasing him. No one else was hurt. State Police investigators returned to the scene of the crash today to take measurements and pictures for their investigation.
