Teen Found Shot Dead In Reading Alley
Reading police are investigating an early morning homicide that left a 17-year-old boy dead. Today, friends of Anthony Todd Lias are grieving his loss, as police investigate why he was killed. WFMZ's Jackie Shutack reports.

Police tape still hangs on a fence in this alley behind the 300 block of 10th Street, near the A-Town Bar, more than 12 hours after police say 17-year-old Anthony Todd Lias was found with an apparent gun shot wound to the head.

SGT. GUY LEHMAN/READING POLICE DEP'T:  "When officers arrived here on location, for the shots fired call, they found a male laying in the alley."

Police say the initial call came in around 2:20 this morning. Lias was pronounced dead at the scene.

SGT. GUY LEHMAN/READING POLICE DEP'T:  "One shell casing was recovered from that location."

Police also recovered surveillance video from the A-Town Bar.

SGT. GUY LEHMAN/READING POLICE DEP'T: "At the time of the incident, the film captures people in the area that we're trying to identify at this point as potential witnesses."

Friends of the victim say he was a junior at Reading Senior High School. They called him a fun kid, and today, they and police are looking for answers about his violent death. Jackie Shutack, 69 News.
