One Tank Trip: Farnsworth House Inn
To get in touch with the spirits, there is perhaps no better place to visit in Pennsylvania than Gettysburg. Known for its haunts, especially this time of year, there's an inn that has a reputation for the supernatural. WFMZ's Karin Mallett takes us along on this week's One Tank Trip to the historic Farnsworth House Inn.  >> REPORTER: You may hear the giggling children but you won't see them. Strange happenings are hard to explain away here at the Farnsworth House Inn in Gettysburg.

>> RENE STAUB: We believe that there's no fewer than 14 spirits in the house. At least 7 that are very active and things happen every day that we can attribute their actions too.

>> REPORTER: Many known by name like Jeremy.. a small boy who was trampled by a horse and wagon.. He died in the nursery.. what is now known as the "Sarah Black Room".. Some say you can still hear Jeremy's father sobbing in the hallway.  Modern day guests of the inn leave Jeremy notes.. and toys. He in turn.. likes to have a little fun of his own in the cellar.

>> STAUB: Close to where you are sitting.. Hair tugged, hair lifted.. he likes to untie shoe strings, he even tied them together.

>> REPORTER: This is Gettysburg after all and tragedy abounds.. During the battle, confederate sharpshooters stormed the home.. using the attic as a vantage point to fire on Union troops. Many believe the bullet that killed Jenny Wade, the only civilian shot and killed in the battle.. came from this very window. The sound of a Jews Harp.. commonly played by the soldiers.. has been heard coming from the attic. Things aren't always as they seem in this home. And you might see more than your own reflection in the mirror.

>> STAUB: Many people have seen her image at the foot of the bed.

>> REPORTER: The spirit of Mary... who likes to take care of the guests..

>> STAUB: Feeling a hand striking them across the forehead.. tucking them in.

>> REPORTER: Beside every bed is a journal.. where you can share your own experience.

>> STAUB: Many times people get some of the most peaceful sleep tat they've ever had and on occasion there are some things that happen but on occasion there are some tings that happen and that's what in these journals.

>> REPORTER: Connecting with the other side on a One Tank Trip to the Farnsworth House Inn in Gettysburg, Karin Mallett 69 News.
