Candidates were out Monday making that last minute push leading up to Election Day to make sure every voter exercises his or her constitutional right. WFMZ's Dwayne Parker has more on this story. 


  
>> Campaign officials from both parties are not taking any chances. Everything from thousands of calls, all the way down to to bilingual support is being deployed to make sure *every* voter can cast their ballot. 

>> REPORTER: Since local elections are not for exactly known for massive voter turnout, both the Republican and Democratic campaigns have their get-out-the vote effort in full swing. Tom Herman, head of Berks County's Democratic Party says his camp has been making thousands of telephone calls. 

>> TOM HERMAN: We're looking at areas that are persuadable to democratic candidates, and the campaigns have strategically driven their calls and their door knocking as such. 

>> REPORTER: Part of the Republican effort came this past Saturday at a get- out-the vote, event. But Republic Chair, Andy Fick, say his workers aren't done yet. 

>> ANDY FICK: So people have literature and we have everybody ready to cover their polls and what they need in hand to give to voters and last minute information. 

>> REPORTER: And for Spanish-speakers that just want to make sure they clearly understand the voting process, a non-partisan group... the Berks Dominican Union... is preparing to deploy an army of Spanish-speaking volunteers to all the voting stations in Berks County. 

>> SUNILDA TEJADA: They don't understand how to vote in the machines, they don't have nobody to explain how to do it. That use to happen before so many times. 

>> In the event you are in need of a bilingual volunteer, and one is not present at your voting precinct, you can call 610.478- 6136. Polls open at 7:00 p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
