Phillies Stay Alive With 8-6 Win Over Yankees In Game 5

The Philadelphia Phillies avoided elimination in the World Series last night with an 8 to 6 win over the New York Yankees in Game 5. Chase Utley provided the spark again with a pair of home runs, including a three-run bomb in the first inning to give the Phillies a lead they would never surrender. Utley has hit five homers in the series, which ties him with former Yankee Reggie Jackson for the most in a single World Series. The Yankees mounted a late comeback with four runs in the last two innings, but it wasn't enough.
The series heads back to the Bronx tomorrow night for game 6. The Yankees will send Andy Pettitte to the mound on three days rest, and the Phillies will counter with Pedro Martinez.
