Local Company Making World Series Gear
Here in the Lehigh Valey, the folks at Majestic Athletic in Northampton County are marking the Yankees 27th championship. But as WFMZ's Stephanie Esposito report it's a bitter sweet task for some of the workers.

>> REPORTER: From Yankees stadium to the retail stores...

>> We make them for the teams and then we bring them to the local sporting goods stores so everyone can wear the same thing Derek Jeter, A-Rod and Joe Girardi wear out on the field.

>> REPORTER: Majestic Athletic is based in Palmer Township.. Northampton County. The company makes everything the players wear on the field and then they make it again for the fans.

>> We're the authentic on field supplier for MLB.

>> REPORTER: The majority of the work is done by hand.

>> We are cutting the patterns sewing together, cutting the names and numbers sewing those down, sewing on the world series patch , boom goes out the door.

>> REPORTER: And the workers do it all long before the last strike.. or the winner is declared. But you'll never see this year's Phillies World Series championship shirt... Each year the losing team's championship gear gets donated to third world countries. A good cause that.. nevertheless.. makes some of the Majestic employees a little sad.

>> Most of the people here are huge Phillies fans but what we do is baseball and we're all baseball fans and part of what we do is that.

>> REPORTER: They won't reveal the numbers regarding which jersey sells more.. but they do say it's been an exceptional sales year.. thanks to the Phillies & Yankees rivalry. And that's not the only secret floating around the majestic warehouse.

>> We're always getting ready for next season. There's things in here you can't see that are secrets until they're unveiled. We're always preparing.
