KU Committee Clears Way for No Confidence Vote
Have some faculty members lost confidence the president of Kutztown University? 69 News has learned the executive committee of the union representing faculty members has OK'd proceeding with a vote of no confidence in Dr. Javier Cevallos.Now the decision may go before the entire union. A meeting is set for later this month. The union says a no confidence vote will make it clear that members want accountability, reform and change. Upon learning about the situation -- the university released this statement: "President Cevallos and his administration are open to working with all constituents. His contract was renewed in October by the State System of Higher Education Board of Governors through 2010 -- based on the positive recommendation of the University's Council of Trustees. He is committed to continuously improving Kutztown University throughout his tenure.
