K.U. Union Cancels Vote of No Confidence

The faculty union at Kutztown University has cancelled a vote of no confidence for this semester as a show of good faith towards the school's president, Dr. Javier Cevallos. The union members say they will review the issue again in October.A union representative tells 69 News the union's council met with the provost of Kutztown University today. Union members feel positive about the discussion and are willing to postpone reviewing the situation again until the fall. "This is a very positive sign and is an indication of the progress the faculty and the administration have made in addressing the issues and challenges presented. We look forward to continuing our work with the faculty as we move the university forward," says Matt Santos of University Relations. Some union members had wanted a vote of "no confidence" to make it clear that they want accountability, reform, and change at the university.
