Bright lights and helicopters took over the sky Monday night in Bethlehem. The city's getting "transformed"...big-screen style. WFMZ's Joscelyn Moes was there for all of Monday's action and she has more.


  >>Reporter: This has been a pretty exciting day that's for sure. Lots of people, lots of action, lots of excitement as filming for Transformers 2 is well underway here in Bethlehem. >>Reporter Lights, camera, action. >>Nat: helicopter >>Reporter: Transformers 2 has set up shop here in Bethlehem... with the old steel site serving as the backdrop. >> Ian Bryce: We have about 400 ... with a bang. >>Nat: Transformers >>Reporter The movie is a sequel to the 2007 blockbuster featuring robots that transform into pretty much anything. The action scene to be shot here is set in a fictional Chinese city. It'll be the opening scene of the movie. >> Lorenzo diBonaventura" The steel mill itself ... here it is it exists. >>Reporter: Most of the filming so far has centered around the helicopters ... 4 military and 2 civilian. Hundreds of fans flocked to the area to take it all in. >> It's pretty cool ... in our backyard. >> I really hope ... some of the explosions. >> It's Transformers ... come see it. óJoscelyn Moesó >> Again filming started today and will wrap up here in Bethlehem later this week.
