It's about a 20 foot by 20 foot cabin. >>REPORTER: Made entirely of ice. >> Almost 100 tons of ice this year. >>REPORTER: The Crystal Cabin Fever ice display in Lakeville, Wayne County is clearly a work of art.. >>nats: >>REPORTER: created by Mark Crouthamel and his team of carvers. >>nats: >>Standup: It all starts with this.. a 300 pound block of ice and little by little.. it turns into a work of art. >>REPORTER: Sheltered by the sun in an old lumber barn is the cabin.. surrounded by life-sized friends. >> We have a 3,000 pound moose right behind you.. don't look! >>REPORTER: It's hard to believe Mark when he says his first attempt at ice carving didn't turn out so well. >> I was an executive chef and the truth is I was an awful ice sculptor. It took a long time to make a very plain swamingo.. it was supposed to be a swan. >>REPORTER: He's come a long way since then but forget swans.. we're glad he made this.. a side by side 40 foot ice slide.
