Local School Marks Autism Awareness Day
Students at one local elementary school are marking Autism Awareness Day with a special assignment. Here at Cetronia Elementary School in South Whitehall Township both students and teachers are raising money by making special pins. They're also competing in a penny pitch in. At the end of the week, the class with the most coins gets an ice cream party. Teachers say it's a great way to teach the kids about giving back.
Cailin Bodnar: ''We do everything that we can right now for the kids but we'd like to do more in the future and by raising this money hopefully we will be able to do that.''
Meantime, a new Autism center is set to open in Lehigh County later this month.
