>>ROBERT ESIK: Patterson produced more than half the world's silk.
>>REPORTER: That was before World War I.. And self made Cathonlina Lambert was one the wealthiest silk manufacturers around. In the late 1800s, he built Belle Vista as his home.. It's now commonly known as Lambert Castle.
>>ESIK: He had one of the greatest collection of paintings of anyone around here.
>>REPORTER: There are only four of the original 500 paintings left.
>>ESIK: His collection rivaled that of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
>>STANDUP: The art collection wouldn't be complete without a portrait of his wife. But rather than just any painting, Mr. Lambert had this ornate frame installed so every time Isabelle came down the stairs.. she was pretty as a picture.
>>ALISON FAUBERT: She would be framed and look like she was inside a picture, a living picture. He really was a romantic man.
>>REPORTER: The castle is now owned by the Passiac County Historical Society and you won't only learn about the Lamberts.. but family friend Bertha Schaefer Koempel who had one of the most unique collections in the world.
>>FAUBERT: Each spoon is a little treasure. There's spoons from all over the world.
>>REPORTER: There are 5,400 spoons in the collection and Bertha had always hoped they would remain on display. The details are incredible.. roulette wheel and a miniature mummy. It's a hidden treasure inside Lambert Castle that's so famous. It was even the subject of a question on the game show Jeopardy.
>>FAUBERT: Question was who has the largest spoon collection in the world.
